Colorful large-scale fabric installation draped on the outside of a New York City building that is four stories tall.

GOOD MORNING!

Good Morning is an art installation made of sewn textile. In the image it is a brightly color large scale fabric piece that has a criss-cross pattern on the front of the building. The textile , like a quilt, is draped on the facade of the building.

Good Morning! (2013)

Good Morning! was sponsored by FABnyc in the Lower East Side. It was commissioned for the FAB Festival in 2013. All the textile is donated and was sewn together in an empty store-front on East 4th Street in NYC.

We collaborated with the local community center on East 4th street - JASA Community Center. Here we stitched fabric works together to drape this large-scale work.

The residents of JASA were able to put their hand in the project, and later return to see how their participation added to the magic of the final work.

Funding from the Rockefeller Cultural Innovation Fund and FABnyc’s SUSTAIN project.
