Future Phenomena 2010 - Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY

In 2007, I moved to Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I was new to the neighborhood, and wanted to create an art installation that introduced myself to the community. At the time I had few friends, so this project was started by chatting, and getting to know my neighbors, city council people, arts institution groups, landlords…you name it. After a couple years, a wonderful new arts group called the North Brooklyn Public Arts Collective (NBArt).

From here we made a plan…and decided to hold three-public sewing days :)
